For evil-doers shall be cut off: But those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the land.


And the children of Israel journeyed from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand on foot that were men, beside children.


And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,


But as for you, your carcases shall fall in this wilderness.


I the LORD have spoken, surely this will I do unto all this evil congregation, that are gathered together against me: in this wilderness they shall be consumed, and there they shall die.


But Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, remained alive of those men that went to spy out the land.


Our father died in the wilderness, and he was not among the company of them that gathered themselves together against the LORD in the company of Korah: but he died in his own sin; and he had no sons.


And these are the names of the men: of the tribe of Judah, Caleb the son of Jephunneh.


Behold then the goodness and severity of God: toward them that fell, severity; but toward thee, God's goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.


save Caleb the son of Jephunneh, he shall see it; and to him will I give the land that he hath trodden upon, and to his children: because he hath wholly followed the LORD.


And this is the cause why Joshua did circumcise: all the people that came forth out of Egypt, that were males, even all the men of war, died in the wilderness by the way, after they came forth out of Egypt.


Now I desire to put you in remembrance, though ye know all things once for all, how that the Lord, having saved a people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.
