Arise, O God, plead thine own cause: Remember how the foolish man reproacheth thee all the day.


Thus saith the LORD, the redeemer of Israel, and his Holy One, to him whom man despiseth, to him whom the nation abhorreth, to a servant of rulers: Kings shall see and arise; princes, and they shall worship; because of the LORD that is faithful, even the Holy One of Israel, who hath chosen thee.


I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting.


Like as many were astonied at thee, (his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men,)


And the LORD said unto me, Cast it unto the potter, the goodly price that I was prised at of them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them unto the potter, in the house of the LORD.


Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and against the man that is my fellow, saith the LORD of hosts: smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered; and I will turn mine hand upon the little ones.


And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers; lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.


From that time began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and the third day be raised up.


The Son of man goeth, even as it is written of him: but woe unto that man through whom the Son of man is betrayed! good were it for that man if he had not been born.


saying, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be delivered unto the chief priests and the scribes; and they shall condemn him to death, and shall deliver him unto the Gentiles:


But I say unto you, that Elijah is come, and they have also done unto him whatsoever they listed, even as it is written of him.


For he taught his disciples, and said unto them, The Son of man is delivered up into the hands of men, and they shall kill him; and when he is killed, after three days he shall rise again.


Yea and thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Most High: For thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to make ready his ways;


And Herod with his soldiers set him at nought, and mocked him, and arraying him in gorgeous apparel sent him back to Pilate.


And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, Art not thou the Christ? save thyself and us.


They therefore, when they were come together, asked him, saying, Lord, dost thou at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?


He is the stone which was set at nought of you the builders, which was made the head of the corner.
