For I hate putting away, saith the LORD, the God of Israel, and him that covereth his garment with violence, saith the LORD of hosts: therefore take heed to your spirit, that ye deal not treacherously.


Then came the disciples, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees were offended, when they heard this saying?


And the Pharisees and Sadducees came, and tempting him asked him to shew them a sign from heaven.


And there came unto him Pharisees, tempting him, and saying, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause?


And one of them, a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him,


But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye shut the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye enter not in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering in to enter.


But the Pharisees said, By the prince of the devils casteth he out devils.


And he arose from thence, and cometh into the borders of Judaea and beyond Jordan: and multitudes come together unto him again; and, as he was wont, he taught them again.


And he answered and said unto them, What did Moses command you?


And the Pharisees came forth, and began to question with him, seeking of him a sign from heaven, tempting him.


And he charged them, saying, Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod.


And the Lord said unto him, Now do ye Pharisees cleanse the outside of the cup and of the platter; but your inward part is full of extortion and wickedness.


And the Pharisees, who were lovers of money, heard all these things; and they scoffed at him.


And the Pharisees and their scribes murmured against his disciples, saying, Why do ye eat and drink with the publicans and sinners?


And the scribes and the Pharisees watched him, whether he would heal on the sabbath; that they might find how to accuse him.


But the Pharisees and the lawyers rejected for themselves the counsel of God, being not baptized of him.


The chief priests therefore and the Pharisees gathered a council, and said, What do we? for this man doeth many signs.


Now the chief priests and the Pharisees had given commandment, that, if any man knew where he was, he should shew it, that they might take him.


The Pharisees heard the multitude murmuring these things concerning him; and the chief priests and the Pharisees sent officers to take him.


Hath any of the rulers believed on him, or of the Pharisees?


And this they said, tempting him, that they might have whereof to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground.


Neither let us tempt the Lord, as some of them tempted, and perished by the serpents.
