When they cast thee down, thou shalt say, There is lifting up; And the humble person he shall save.


How then can man be just with God? Or how can he be clean that is born of a woman?


Though I be righteous, mine own mouth shall condemn me: Though I be perfect, it shall prove me perverse.


For though the LORD be high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly: But the haughty he knoweth from afar.


And enter not into judgement with thy servant; For in thy sight shall no man living be justified.


Now I know that the LORD is greater than all gods: yea, in the thing wherein they dealt proudly against them.


The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour goeth humility.


Before destruction the heart of man is haughty, And before honour goeth humility.


For better is it that it be said unto thee, Come up hither; Than that thou shouldest be put lower in the presence of the prince, Whom thine eyes have seen.


A man's pride shall bring him low: But he that is of a lowly spirit shall obtain honour.


Surely he scorneth the scorners, But he giveth grace unto the lowly.


Go thy way, eat thy bread with joy, and drink thy wine with a merry heart; for God hath already accepted thy works.


In the LORD shall all the seed of Israel be justified, and shall glory.


He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many: and he shall bear their iniquities.


For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy: I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.


For all these things hath mine hand made, and so all these things came to be, saith the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and that trembleth at my word.


Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven; for all his works are truth, and his ways judgement: and those that walk in pride he is able to abase.


Behold, his soul is puffed up, it is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.


And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be humbled; and whosoever shall humble himself shall be exalted.


Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.


He hath put down princes from their thrones, And hath exalted them of low degree.


But he, desiring to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour?


For every one that exalteth himself shall be humbled; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.


And he said unto them, Ye are they that justify yourselves in the sight of men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is exalted among men is an abomination in the sight of God.


because by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for through the law cometh the knowledge of sin.


But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is reckoned for righteousness.


Being therefore justified by faith, let us have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ;


Who shall lay anything to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth;


yet knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, save through faith in Jesus Christ, even we believed on Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ, and not by the works of the law: because by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.


Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall exalt you.


But he giveth more grace. Wherefore the scripture saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace to the humble.


And she said, Let thy servant find grace in thy sight. So the woman went her way, and did eat, and her countenance was no more sad.
