He maketh the barren woman to keep house, And to be a joyful mother of children. Praise ye the LORD.


The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: But they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing.


The land mourneth and languisheth: Lebanon is ashamed and withereth away: Sharon is like a desert; and Bashan and Carmel shake off their leaves.


Sing, O barren, thou that didst not bear; break forth into singing, and cry aloud, thou that didst not travail with child: for more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife, saith the LORD.


She that hath borne seven languisheth; she hath given up the ghost; her sun is gone down while it was yet day; she hath been ashamed and confounded: and the residue of them will I deliver to the sword before their enemies, saith the LORD.


The hungry he hath filled with good things; And the rich he hath sent empty away.

And it came to pass, when the time was come about, that Hannah conceived, and bare a son; and she called his name Samuel, saying, Because I have asked him of the LORD.


And her rival provoked her sore, for to make her fret, because the LORD had shut up her womb.
