Take warning, O Jerusalem, or I shall turn from you in disgust and make you a desolation, an uninhabited land.


then I will dwell with you in this place, in the land that I gave to your ancestors forever and ever.


I have given heed and listened, but they do not speak honestly; no one repents of wickedness, saying, “What have I done!” All of them turn to their own course like a horse plunging headlong into battle.


They have deeply corrupted themselves as in the days of Gibeah; he will remember their iniquity; he will punish their sins.


It has listened to no voice; it has accepted no correction. It has not trusted in the Lord; it has not drawn near to its God.


so that you do not act corruptly by making an idol for yourselves in the form of any figure: the likeness of male or female,


But the aim of such instruction is love that comes from a pure heart, a good conscience, and sincere faith.


The Lord is not slow about his promise, as some think of slowness, but is patient with you, not wanting any to perish but all to come to repentance.
