Zechariah 11:6 - New Revised Standard Version Updated Edition 2021

6 For I will no longer have pity on the inhabitants of the earth, says the Lord. I will cause them, every one, to fall each into the hand of a neighbor and each into the hand of the king, and they shall devastate the earth, and I will deliver no one from their hand.”

“Mark this, then, you who forget God, or I will tear you apart, and there will be no one to deliver.


When its boughs are dry, they are broken; women come and make a fire of them. For this is a people without understanding; therefore he who made them will not have compassion on them; he who formed them will show them no favor.


The people will be oppressed, everyone by another and everyone by a neighbor; the youth will be insolent to the elder and the base to the honorable.


And I will dash them one against another, parents and children together, says the Lord. I will not pity or spare or have compassion when I destroy them.


The young and the old are lying on the ground in the streets; my young women and my young men have fallen by the sword; in the day of your anger you have killed them, slaughtering without mercy.


Slaves rule over us; there is no one to deliver us from their hand.


Therefore I will act in wrath; my eye will not spare, nor will I have pity, and though they cry in my hearing with a loud voice, I will not listen to them.”


As for me, my eye will not spare, nor will I have pity, but I will bring down their deeds upon their heads.”


She conceived again and bore a daughter. Then the Lord said to him, “Name her Lo-ruhamah, for I will no longer have pity on the house of Israel or forgive them.


Now I will uncover her shame in the sight of her lovers, and no one shall rescue her out of my hand.


And among the nations the remnant of Jacob, surrounded by many peoples, shall be like a lion among the animals of the forest, like a young lion among the flocks of sheep, which, when it goes through, treads down and tears in pieces, with no one to deliver.


You shall eat but not be satisfied, and there shall be a gnawing hunger within you; you shall put away but not save, and what you save, I will hand over to the sword.


and to overthrow the throne of kingdoms; I am about to destroy the strength of the kingdoms of the nations and overthrow the chariots and their riders, and the horses and their riders shall fall, every one by the sword of a comrade.


Then I broke my second staff Unity, annulling the family ties between Judah and Israel.


Those who buy them kill them and go unpunished, and those who sell them say, ‘Blessed be the Lord, for I have become rich,’ and their own shepherds have no pity on them.


So I said, “I will not be your shepherd. What is to die, let it die; what is to be destroyed, let it be destroyed; and let those that are left devour the flesh of one another!”


On that day a great panic from the Lord shall fall on them, so that each will seize the hand of a neighbor, and the hand of the one will be raised against the hand of the other;


For before those days there were no wages for people or for animals, nor was there any safety from the foe for those who went out or came in, and I set them all against one another.


He will turn the hearts of parents to their children and the hearts of children to their parents, so that I will not come and strike the land with a curse.


Sibling will betray sibling to death and a father his child, and children will rise against parents and have them put to death,


The king was enraged. He sent his troops, destroyed those murderers, and burned their city.


Then many will fall away, and they will betray one another and hate one another.


They cried out, “Away with him! Away with him! Crucify him!” Pilate asked them, “Shall I crucify your King?” The chief priests answered, “We have no king but Caesar.”


by hindering us from speaking to the gentiles so that they may be saved. Thus they have constantly been filling up the measure of their sins, but wrath has overtaken them at last.


how will we escape if we neglect so great a salvation? It was declared at first through the Lord, and it was confirmed for us by those who heard him,


For judgment will be without mercy to anyone who has shown no mercy; mercy triumphs over judgment.
