But you indeed are awesome! Who can stand before you when your anger is roused?

The sinners in Zion are afraid; trembling has seized the godless: “Who among us can live with the devouring fire? Who among us can live with everlasting flames?”

And if in spite of this you will not obey me, I will continue to punish you sevenfold for your sins.

“If you continue hostile to me and will not obey me, I will continue to plague you sevenfold for your sins.

then I, too, will continue hostile to you: I myself will strike you sevenfold for your sins.

I will continue hostile to you in fury; I in turn will punish you myself sevenfold for your sins.

Who can stand before his indignation? Who can endure the heat of his anger? His wrath is poured out like fire, and by him the rocks are broken in pieces.

But I will show you whom to fear: fear the one who, after killing, has authority to cast into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear that one!

Therefore, knowing the fear of the Lord, we try to persuade people, but we ourselves are well known to God, and I hope that we are also well known to your consciences.

then the Lord will overwhelm both you and your offspring with severe and lasting afflictions and grievous and lasting maladies.

for the great day of their wrath has come, and who is able to stand?”
