The Lord lives! Blessed be my rock, and exalted be my God, the rock of my salvation,


I will be a father to him, and he shall be a son to me. When he commits iniquity, I will punish him with a rod such as mortals use, with blows inflicted by human beings.


He shall build a house for my name. He shall be a son to me, and I will be a father to him, and I will establish his royal throne in Israel forever.’


The Lord lives! Blessed be my rock, and exalted be the God of my salvation,


Then I will go to the altar of God, to God my exceeding joy, and I will praise you with the harp, O God, my God.


He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall never be shaken.


O come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!


He will cut off the chariot from Ephraim and the war horse from Jerusalem; and the battle bow shall be cut off, and he shall command peace to the nations; his dominion shall be from sea to sea and from the River to the ends of the earth.


And going a little farther, he threw himself on the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from me, yet not what I want but what you want.”


Again he went away for the second time and prayed, “My Father, if this cannot pass unless I drink it, your will be done.”


At three o’clock Jesus cried out with a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?” which means, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”


Then Jesus, crying out with a loud voice, said, “Father, into your hands I commend my spirit.” Having said this, he breathed his last.


So they took away the stone. And Jesus looked upward and said, “Father, I thank you for having heard me.


Jesus said to her, “Do not touch me, because I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go to my brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’ ”


For to which of the angels did God ever say, “You are my Son; today I have begotten you”? Or again, “I will be his Father, and he will be my Son”?
