David and all the people with him set out and went from Baale-judah to bring up from there the ark of God, which is called by the name of the Lord of hosts who is enthroned on the cherubim.


And Hezekiah prayed before the Lord and said, “O Lord the God of Israel, who are enthroned above the cherubim, you are God, you alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth; you have made heaven and earth.


Does it seem good to you to oppress, to despise the work of your hands and favor the schemes of the wicked?

For you were going astray like sheep, but now you have returned to the shepherd and guardian of your souls.


And when the chief shepherd appears, you will win the crown of glory that never fades away.


And the city has no need of sun or moon to shine on it, for the glory of God is its light, and its lamp is the Lamb.


So the people sent to Shiloh and brought from there the ark of the covenant of the Lord of hosts, who is enthroned on the cherubim. The two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, were there with the ark of the covenant of God.
