Many bulls encircle me; strong bulls of Bashan surround me;


Deliver my soul from the sword, my life from the power of the dog!


Even now they lie in wait for my life; the mighty stir up strife against me. For no transgression or sin of mine, O Lord,


If I had cherished iniquity in my heart, the Lord would not have listened.


“The Lord, God of gods! The Lord, God of gods! He knows, and let Israel itself know! If it was in rebellion or in breach of faith toward the Lord, do not spare us today


Therefore deal kindly with your servant, for you have brought your servant into a sacred covenant with you. But if there is guilt in me, kill me yourself; why should you bring me to your father?”


Saul said to him, “Why have you conspired against me, you and the son of Jesse, by giving him bread and a sword and by inquiring of God for him, so that he has risen against me to lie in wait, as he is doing today?”


Is that why all of you have conspired against me? No one discloses to me when my son makes a league with the son of Jesse; none of you is sorry for me or discloses to me that my son has stirred up my servant against me to lie in wait, as he is doing today.”
