But you, O Lord my Lord, act on my behalf for your name’s sake; because your steadfast love is good, deliver me.


For your name’s sake, O Lord, preserve my life. In your righteousness bring me out of trouble.


You are indeed my rock and my fortress; for your name’s sake lead me and guide me;


Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of your name; deliver us and forgive our sins, for your name’s sake.


keeping steadfast love for the thousandth generation, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, yet by no means clearing the guilty, but visiting the iniquity of the parents upon the children and the children’s children to the third and the fourth generation.”


I alone am the one who blots out your transgressions for my own sake, and I will not remember your sins.


For my name’s sake I defer my anger; for the sake of my praise I restrain it for you, so that I may not cut you off.


Although our iniquities testify against us, act, O Lord, for your name’s sake; our rebellions indeed are many, and we have sinned against you.


But I acted for the sake of my name, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations among whom they lived, in whose sight I made myself known to them in bringing them out of the land of Egypt.


Therefore say to the house of Israel: Thus says the Lord God: It is not for your sake, O house of Israel, that I am about to act but for the sake of my holy name, which you have profaned among the nations to which you came.


But the free gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died through the one man’s trespass, much more surely have the grace of God and the gift in the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, abounded for the many.


I am writing to you, little children, because your sins are forgiven on account of his name.
