Our God comes and does not keep silent; before him is a devouring fire and a mighty tempest all around him.


Sing to God; sing praises to his name; lift up a song to him who rides upon the clouds— his name is the Lord— be exultant before him.


Fire goes before him and consumes his adversaries on every side.


Now all of Mount Sinai was wrapped in smoke, because the Lord had descended upon it in fire; the smoke went up like the smoke of a kiln, while the whole mountain shook violently.


Lift up your eyes to the heavens and look at the earth beneath, for the heavens will vanish like smoke, the earth will wear out like a garment, and those who live on it will die like gnats, but my salvation will be forever, and my deliverance will never be ended.


For the Lord will come in fire and his chariots in a whirlwind, to vent his anger in fury and his rebuke in flames of fire.


The Lord roars from Zion and utters his voice from Jerusalem, and the heavens and the earth shake. But the Lord is a refuge for his people, a stronghold for the people of Israel.


“Immediately after the suffering of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of heaven will be shaken.


When it was noon, darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon.


Jesus answered, “You do not know now what I am doing, but later you will understand.”


There is none like God, O Jeshurun, who rides through the heavens to your help, majestic through the clouds.


At that time his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised, “Yet once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heaven.”


But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a loud noise, and the elements will be destroyed with fire, and the earth and everything that is done on it will be disclosed.


Then I saw a great white throne and the one who sat on it; the earth and the heaven fled from his presence, and no place was found for them.
