I am severely afflicted; give me life, O Lord, according to your word.


In your steadfast love hear my voice; O Lord, in your justice preserve my life.


Great is your mercy, O Lord; be gracious to me according to your justice.


Consider how I love your precepts; be gracious to me according to your steadfast love.


Turn my eyes from looking at vanities; be gracious to me according to your word.


See, I have longed for your precepts; in your righteousness be gracious to me.


In your steadfast love spare my life, so that I may keep the decrees of your mouth.


I will never forget your precepts, for by them you have given me life.


For your name’s sake, O Lord, preserve my life. In your righteousness bring me out of trouble.


my mouth is dried up like a potsherd, and my tongue sticks to my jaws; you lay me in the dust of death.


For we sink down to the dust; our bodies cling to the ground.


Rise up, come to our help. Redeem us for the sake of your steadfast love.


You who have made me see many troubles and calamities will revive me again; from the depths of the earth you will bring me up again.


Then we will never turn back from you; give us life, and we will call on your name.


The wolf and the lamb shall feed together; the lion shall eat straw like the ox, but the serpent—its food shall be dust! They shall not hurt or destroy on all my holy mountain, says the Lord.


But he turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a hindrance to me, for you are setting your mind not on divine things but on human things.”


“Moreover, the Lord your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your descendants, so that you will love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, in order that you may live.


Their end is destruction, their god is the belly, and their glory is in their shame; their minds are set on earthly things.


Set your minds on the things that are above, not on the things that are on earth,
