You shall speak to him and put the words in his mouth, and I will be with your mouth and with his mouth and will teach you what you shall do.


The plans of the mind belong to mortals, but the answer of the tongue is from the Lord.


The human mind plans the way, but the Lord directs the steps.


I have put my words in your mouth and hidden you in the shadow of my hand, stretching out the heavens and laying the foundations of the earth and saying to Zion, “You are my people.”

That night God came to Balaam and said to him, “If the men have come to summon you, get up and go with them, but do only what I tell you to do.”


The angel of the Lord said to Balaam, “Go with the men, but speak only what I tell you to speak.” So Balaam went on with the officials of Balak.


The Lord met Balaam, put a word into his mouth, and said, “Return to Balak, and this is what you shall say.”


Then God met Balaam, and Balaam said to him, “I have arranged the seven altars and have offered a bull and a ram on each altar.”


So he returned to Balak, who was standing beside his burnt offerings with all the officials of Moab.


for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that very hour what you ought to say.”


He did not say this on his own, but being high priest that year he prophesied that Jesus was about to die for the nation,


I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their own people; I will put my words in the mouth of the prophet, who shall speak to them everything that I command.
