So we shall come upon him in whatever place he may be found, and we shall light on him as the dew falls on the ground, and he will not survive, nor will any of those with him.

Can any idols of the nations bring rain, or can the heavens give showers? Is it not you, O Lord our God? We set our hope on you, for it is you who do all this.


Yet survivors shall be left in it, sons and daughters who will be brought out; they will come out to you. When you see their ways and their deeds, you will be consoled for the evil that I have brought upon Jerusalem, for all that I have brought upon it.


Then he brought me back to the entrance of the temple; there water was flowing from below the entryway of the temple toward the east (for the temple faced east), and the water was flowing down from below the south side of the temple, south of the altar.


“Thus says the Lord God: This is Jerusalem; I have set her in the center of the nations, with countries all around her.


He will flatter with smooth words those who violate the covenant, but the people who are loyal to their God shall stand firm and take action.


I will be like the dew to Israel; he shall blossom like the lily; he shall strike root like the forests of Lebanon.


Let us know, let us press on to know the Lord; his appearing is as sure as the dawn; he will come to us like the showers, like the spring rains that water the earth.”


Then everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved, for in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be those who escape, as the Lord has said, and among the survivors shall be those whom the Lord calls.


Hate evil and love good, and establish justice in the gate; it may be that the Lord, the God of hosts, will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph.


I will surely gather all of you, O Jacob; I will gather the survivors of Israel; I will set them together like sheep in a fold, like a flock in its pasture; it will resound with people.


Arise and thresh, O daughter Zion, for I will make your horn iron and your hoofs bronze; you shall beat in pieces many peoples and shall devote their gain to the Lord, their wealth to the Lord of the whole earth.


The lame I will make the remnant, and those who were cast off, a strong nation, and the Lord will reign over them in Mount Zion now and forevermore.


Therefore he shall give them up until the time when she who is in labor has brought forth; then the rest of his kindred shall return to the people of Israel.

Now if their stumbling means riches for the world and if their loss means riches for gentiles, how much more will their full inclusion mean!


What then are we to say? Gentiles, who did not strive for righteousness, have attained it, that is, righteousness through faith,


I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth.


May my teaching drop like the rain, my speech condense like the dew, like gentle rain on grass, like showers on new growth.
