For you, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call on you.


Better is a dinner of vegetables where love is than a fatted ox and hatred with it.


I come to my garden, my sister, my bride; I gather my myrrh with my spice; I eat my honeycomb with my honey; I drink my wine with my milk. Eat, friends, drink, and be drunk with love.


Again he sent other slaves, more than the first, and they treated them in the same way.


But they made light of it and went away, one to his farm, another to his business,


Then he said to his slaves, ‘The wedding is ready, but those invited were not worthy.


At the time for the dinner he sent his slave to say to those who had been invited, ‘Come, for everything is ready now.’


But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”


Then both Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly, saying, “It was necessary that the word of God should be spoken first to you. Since you reject it and judge yourselves to be unworthy of eternal life, we are now turning to the gentiles.


He who did not withhold his own Son but gave him up for all of us, how will he not with him also give us everything else?
