Then he entered Jerusalem and went into the temple, and when he had looked around at everything, as it was already late, he went out to Bethany with the twelve.


And when evening came, Jesus and his disciples went out of the city.


While he was at Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at the table, a woman came with an alabaster jar of very costly ointment of nard, and she broke open the jar and poured the ointment on his head.


Jesus departed with his disciples to the sea, and a great multitude from Galilee followed him;


Now as they went on their way, he entered a certain village where a woman named Martha welcomed him.


When he had come near Bethphage and Bethany, at the place called the Mount of Olives, he sent two of the disciples,


Then he led them out as far as Bethany, and, lifting up his hands, he blessed them.


Now a certain man was ill, Lazarus of Bethany, the village of Mary and her sister Martha.


Now Bethany was near Jerusalem, some two miles away,
