He answered them, “And why do you break the commandment of God for the sake of your tradition?


they noticed that some of his disciples were eating with defiled hands, that is, without washing them.


So the Pharisees and the scribes asked him, “Why do your disciples not walk according to the tradition of the elders but eat with defiled hands?”


The Pharisee was amazed to see that he did not first wash before dinner.


I advanced in Judaism beyond many among my people of the same age, for I was far more zealous for the traditions of my ancestors.


Watch out that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental principles of the world, and not according to Christ.


You know that you were ransomed from the futile conduct inherited from your ancestors, not with perishable things like silver or gold
