Happy are those whose way is blameless, who walk in the law of the Lord.


yet such a person has no root but endures only for a while, and when trouble or persecution arises on account of the word, that person immediately falls away.


Woe to the world because of things that cause sin! Such things are bound to come, but woe to the one through whom they come!


Then many will fall away, and they will betray one another and hate one another.


Then Jesus said to them, “You will all fall away because of me this night, for it is written, ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’


If your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away; it is better for you to lose one of your members than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.


Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary and brother of James and Joses and Judas and Simon, and are not his sisters here with us?” And they took offense at him.


Then Simeon blessed them and said to his mother Mary, “This child is destined for the falling and the rising of many in Israel and to be a sign that will be opposed


And blessed is anyone who takes no offense at me.”


“I have said these things to you to keep you from falling away.


Because of this many of his disciples turned back and no longer went about with him.


Those who are unspiritual do not receive the gifts of God’s Spirit, for they are foolishness to them, and they are unable to understand them because they are spiritually discerned.


But my brothers and sisters, why am I still being persecuted if I am still preaching circumcision? In that case the offense of the cross has been removed.


and “A stone that makes them stumble and a rock that makes them fall.” They stumble because they disobey the word, as they were destined to do.
