And they came and said to him, “Teacher, we know that you are sincere and show deference to no one, for you do not regard people with partiality but teach the way of God in accordance with truth. Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar or not?


Now some of the scribes were sitting there questioning in their hearts,


But I tell you that Elijah has come, and they did to him whatever they pleased, as it is written about him.”


He entered the synagogue and for three months spoke out boldly and argued persuasively about the kingdom of God.


Consider him who endured such hostility against himself from sinners, so that you may not grow weary in your souls or lose heart.
