While they were eating, Jesus took a loaf of bread, and after blessing it he broke it, gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take, eat; this is my body.”


“And the seven for the four thousand, how many baskets full of broken pieces did you collect?” And they said to him, “Seven.”


He asked them, “How many loaves do you have?” They said, “Seven.”


They had also a few small fish, and after blessing them he ordered that these, too, should be distributed.


Blessed are those slaves whom the master finds alert when he comes; truly I tell you, he will fasten his belt and have them sit down to eat, and he will come and serve them.


When he was at the table with them, he took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them.


His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”


But some boats from Tiberias came near the place where they had eaten the bread after the Lord had given thanks.


Those who observe the day, observe it for the Lord. Also those who eat, eat for the Lord, since they give thanks to God, while those who abstain, abstain for the Lord and give thanks to God.


And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.


As soon as you enter the town, you will meet him before he goes up to the shrine to eat. For the people will not eat until he comes, since he must bless the sacrifice; afterward those eat who are invited. Now go up, for you will meet him immediately.”
