Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you, Satan! for it is written, ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve only him.’ ”


And looking at those who sat around him, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers!


He looked around at them with anger; he was grieved at their hardness of heart and said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He stretched it out, and his hand was restored.


The Lord turned and looked at Peter. Then Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said to him, “Before the cock crows today, you will deny me three times.”


Jesus answered him, “It is written, ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve only him.’ ”


But he turned and rebuked them.


you are to hand this man over to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord.


Their end is destruction, their god is the belly, and their glory is in their shame; their minds are set on earthly things.


As for those who persist in sin, rebuke them in the presence of all, so that the rest also may stand in fear.


That testimony is true. For this reason rebuke them sharply, so that they may become sound in the faith,


Since, therefore, Christ suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same intention (for whoever has suffered in the flesh has finished with sin),


Do not love the world or the things in the world. The love of the Father is not in those who love the world,


I reprove and discipline those whom I love. Be earnest, therefore, and repent.
