Whoever slaughters an ox is like one who kills a human, whoever sacrifices a lamb like one who breaks a dog’s neck, whoever presents a grain offering like one who offers pig’s blood, whoever makes a memorial offering of frankincense like one who blesses an idol. Just as these have chosen their own ways and in their abominations they take delight,


“Do not give what is holy to dogs, and do not throw your pearls before swine, or they will trample them under foot and turn and maul you.


Now a large herd of swine was feeding at some distance from them.


He begged him earnestly not to send them out of the region.


and the unclean spirits begged him, “Send us into the swine; let us enter them.”


Now there on the hillside a large herd of swine was feeding, and the demons begged Jesus to let them enter these. So he gave them permission.


And the pig, because it divides the hoof but does not chew the cud, is unclean for you. You shall not eat their meat, and you shall not touch their carcasses.
