Out of the ground the Lord God made to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight and good for food, the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

They are like trees planted by streams of water, which yield their fruit in its season, and their leaves do not wither. In all that they do, they prosper.

But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, which shines brighter and brighter until full day.

For everything there is a season and a time for every matter under heaven:

He has made everything suitable for its time; moreover, he has put a sense of past and future into their minds, yet they cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.

For as the earth brings forth its shoots and as a garden causes what is sown in it to spring up, so the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to spring up before all the nations.

Let us know, let us press on to know the Lord; his appearing is as sure as the dawn; he will come to us like the showers, like the spring rains that water the earth.”

So when the plants came up and bore grain, then the weeds appeared as well.

and would sleep and rise night and day, and the seed would sprout and grow, he does not know how.

But when the grain is ripe, at once he goes in with his sickle because the harvest has come.”

I am confident of this, that the one who began a good work in you will continue to complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.

so that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, as you bear fruit in every good work and as you grow in the knowledge of God.
