“Why does this fellow speak in this way? It is blasphemy! Who can forgive sins but God alone?”


Which is easier: to say to the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Stand up and take your mat and walk’?


For it is from within, from the human heart, that evil intentions come: sexual immorality, theft, murder,


He said to them, “Why are you frightened, and why do doubts arise in your hearts?


When Jesus perceived their questionings, he answered them, “Why do you raise such questions in your hearts?


But he knew what they were thinking, and he said to the man who had the withered hand, “Come and stand in the middle.” He got up and stood there.

But among you there are some who do not believe.” For Jesus knew from the beginning who were the ones who did not believe and who was the one who would betray him.


“Ananias,” Peter asked, “why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back part of the proceeds of the land?


Repent therefore of this wickedness of yours, and pray to the Lord that, if possible, the intent of your heart may be forgiven you.


And before him no creature is hidden, but all are naked and laid bare to the eyes of the one to whom we must render an account.


and I will strike her children dead. And all the churches will know that I am the one who searches minds and hearts, and I will give to each of you as your works deserve.
