“No one sews a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old cloak; otherwise, the patch pulls away from it, the new from the old, and a worse tear is made.


Then he said to the disciples, “The days are coming when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it.


The days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them, and then they will fast in those days.”


You always have the poor with you, but you do not always have me.”

He who has the bride is the bridegroom. The friend of the bridegroom who stands and hears him rejoices greatly at the bridegroom’s voice. For this reason my joy has been fulfilled.


When he had said this, as they were watching, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight.


And after they had appointed elders for them in each church, with prayer and fasting they entrusted them to the Lord in whom they had come to believe.
