The king was enraged. He sent his troops, destroyed those murderers, and burned their city.


Have you not read this scripture: ‘The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone;


So they seized him, killed him, and threw him out of the vineyard.


But as for these enemies of mine who did not want me to rule over them—bring them here and slaughter them in my presence.’ ”


Then Isaiah is so bold as to say, “I have been found by those who did not seek me; I have shown myself to those who did not ask for me.”


But just as all the good things that the Lord your God promised concerning you have been fulfilled for you, so the Lord will bring upon you all the bad things until he has destroyed you from this good land that the Lord your God has given you.
