For in the hand of the Lord there is a cup with foaming wine, well mixed; he will pour a draught from it, and all the wicked of the earth shall drain it down to the dregs.


Thus says your Sovereign, the Lord, your God who pleads the cause of his people: See, I have taken from your hand the cup of staggering; you shall drink no more from the cup of my wrath.


For thus the Lord, the God of Israel, said to me: Take from my hand this cup of the wine of wrath, and make all the nations to whom I send you drink it.


And you, do you seek great things for yourself? Do not seek them, for I am going to bring disaster upon all flesh, says the Lord, but I will give you your life as a prize of war in every place to which you may go.”


And going a little farther, he threw himself on the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from me, yet not what I want but what you want.”


and they were baptized by him in the River Jordan, confessing their sins.


He said, “Abba, Father, for you all things are possible; remove this cup from me, yet not what I want but what you want.”


I have a baptism with which to be baptized, and what constraint I am under until it is completed!


“Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me, yet not my will but yours be done.” [[


Jesus said to Peter, “Put your sword back into its sheath. Am I not to drink the cup that the Father has given me?”


Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness, for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but that very Spirit intercedes with groanings too deep for words.


You ask and do not receive because you ask wrongly, in order to spend what you get on your pleasures.
