17 One day while he was teaching, Pharisees and teachers of the law who had come from every village of Galilee and Judea and from Jerusalem were sitting nearby, and the power of the Lord was with him to heal.

Then Pharisees and scribes came to Jesus from Jerusalem and said,


But he went out and began to proclaim it freely and to spread the word, so that Jesus could no longer go into a town openly but stayed out in the country, and people came to him from every quarter.


they will pick up snakes, and if they drink any deadly thing, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.”


And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem said, “He has Beelzebul, and by the ruler of the demons he casts out demons.”


Immediately aware that power had gone forth from him, Jesus turned about in the crowd and said, “Who touched my cloak?”


Now when the Pharisees and some of the scribes who had come from Jerusalem gathered around him,


And the Pharisees and the scribes were grumbling and saying, “This fellow welcomes sinners and eats with them.”


After three days they found him in the temple, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions.


Then the scribes and the Pharisees began to question, “Who is this who is speaking blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God alone?”


The Pharisees and their scribes were complaining to his disciples, saying, “Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?”


And everyone in the crowd was trying to touch him, for power came out from him and healed all of them.


But the Pharisees and the experts in the law, not having been baptized by him, rejected God’s purpose for themselves.)


But Jesus said, “Someone touched me, for I noticed that power had gone out from me.”


Jesus answered him, “Are you the teacher of Israel, and yet you do not understand these things?


But those who do what is true come to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that their deeds have been done in God.”


God did extraordinary miracles through Paul,


while you stretch out your hand to heal, and signs and wonders are performed through the name of your holy servant Jesus.”


But a Pharisee in the council named Gamaliel, a teacher of the law, respected by all the people, stood up and ordered the men to be put outside for a short time.
