He said to them, “Collect no more than the amount prescribed for you.”


When the angel who spoke to him had left, he called two of his slaves and a devout soldier from the ranks of those who served him,


so that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, in which you shine like stars in the world,


Not that I am referring to being in need, for I have learned to be content with whatever I have.


Likewise, tell the older women to be reverent in behavior, not to be slanderers or enslaved to much wine; they are to teach what is good,


Then I heard a loud voice in heaven proclaiming, “Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Messiah, for the accuser of our brothers and sisters has been thrown down, who accuses them day and night before our God.
