These are the descendants of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless in his generation; Noah walked with God.


There was once a man in the land of Uz whose name was Job. That man was blameless and upright, one who feared God and turned away from evil.


The Lord said to the accuser, “Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man who fears God and turns away from evil.”


It will be said on that day, “See, this is our God; we have waited for him, so that he might save us. This is the Lord for whom we have waited; let us be glad and rejoice in his salvation.”


Comfort, O comfort my people, says your God.
