I tell you, even though he will not get up and give him anything out of friendship, at least because of his persistence he will get up and give him whatever he needs.


In that city there was a widow who kept coming to him and saying, ‘Grant me justice against my accuser.’


Those who were in front sternly ordered him to be quiet, but he shouted even more loudly, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”


but I punish my body and enslave it, so that after proclaiming to others I myself should not be disqualified.


Finally, after she had nagged him with her words day after day and pestered him, he was tired to death.
