“Ask, and it will be given to you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you.


And he said to them, “Why are you afraid, you of little faith?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a dead calm.


As Jesus went on from there, two blind men followed him, crying loudly, “Have mercy on us, Son of David!”


Woe to you experts in the law! For you have taken away the key of knowledge; you did not enter yourselves, and you hindered those who were entering.”


Then Jesus told them a parable about their need to pray always and not to lose heart.


People were bringing even infants to him that he might touch them, and when the disciples saw it, they sternly ordered them not to do it.


Then he shouted, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”


Jesus stood still and ordered the man to be brought to him, and when he came near, he asked him,


Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to him, “Teacher, order your disciples to stop.”


While he was still speaking, someone came from the synagogue leader’s house to say, “Your daughter is dead; do not trouble the teacher any longer.”


Three times I appealed to the Lord about this, that it would leave me,
