He went up from there to Bethel, and while he was going up on the way, some small boys came out of the city and jeered at him, saying, “Go away, baldhead! Go away, baldhead!”


His head is the finest gold; his locks are wavy, black as a raven.


Daughter Dibon has gone up to the high places to weep; over Nebo and over Medeba Moab wails. Every head is shaved; every beard is shorn;


the priest shall make an examination, and if the spots on the skin of the body are of a dull white, it is a rash that has broken out on the skin; he is clean.


If he loses the hair from his forehead and temples, he has baldness of the forehead, but he is clean.


I will turn your feasts into mourning and all your songs into lamentation; I will bring sackcloth on all loins and baldness on every head; I will make it like the mourning for an only son and the end of it like a bitter day.


Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal bodies, so that you obey their desires.


I am speaking in human terms because of your limitations. For just as you once presented your members as slaves to impurity and lawlessness, leading to even more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves to righteousness, leading to sanctification.


But if Christ is in you, then the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.


You know that it was because of a physical infirmity that I first announced the gospel to you;
