After this, war broke out with the Philistines at Gezer; then Sibbecai the Hushathite killed Sippai, who was one of the descendants of the giants, and the Philistines were subdued.


His daughter was Sheerah, who built both Lower and Upper Beth-horon and Uzzen-sheerah.


Their possessions and settlements were Bethel and its towns, and eastward Naaran, and westward Gezer and its towns, Shechem and its towns, as far as Ayyah and its towns;


He also built Upper Beth-horon and Lower Beth-horon, fortified cities, with walls, gates, and bars,


“For the western boundary, you shall have the Great Sea and its coast; this shall be your western boundary.


Then King Horam of Gezer came up to help Lachish, and Joshua struck him and his people, leaving him no survivors.


From there the boundary passes along southward in the direction of Luz, to the slope of Luz (that is, Bethel), then the boundary goes down to Ataroth-addar, on the mountain that lies south of Lower Beth-horon.
