Then God said, “Let the earth put forth vegetation: plants yielding seed and fruit trees of every kind on earth that bear fruit with the seed in it.” And it was so.


And God said, “Let there be lights in the dome of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them be for signs and for seasons and for days and years,


Then God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.


So God made the dome and separated the waters that were under the dome from the waters that were above the dome. And it was so.


And God said, “Let the waters under the sky be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear.” And it was so.


He spoke, and there came swarms of flies and gnats throughout their country.


He spoke, and the locusts came, and young locusts without number;


The poor shall eat and be satisfied; those who seek him shall praise the Lord. May your hearts live forever!


for he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm.


The Lord will save me, and we will sing to stringed instruments all the days of our lives, at the house of the Lord. [[


I, I am the Lord, and besides me there is no savior.


Why was no one there when I came? Why did no one answer when I called? Is my arm powerless to redeem? Or have I no strength to deliver? By my rebuke I dry up the sea; I make the rivers a desert, so that their fish stink for lack of water and die of thirst.


Yet I have been the Lord your God ever since the land of Egypt; you know no God but me, and besides me there is no savior.


Assyria shall not save us; we will not ride upon horses; we will say no more, ‘Our God,’ to the work of our hands. In you the orphan finds mercy.”


But the Lord provided a large fish to swallow up Jonah, and Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.


The word of the Lord came to Jonah a second time, saying,
