Why was no one there when I came? Why did no one answer when I called? Is my arm powerless to redeem? Or have I no strength to deliver? By my rebuke I dry up the sea; I make the rivers a desert, so that their fish stink for lack of water and die of thirst.


Who has believed what we have heard? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?


See, I made him a witness to the peoples, a leader and commander for the peoples.


I held out my hands all day long to a rebellious people, who walk in a way that is not good, following their own devices;


All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.


“Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to it! How often have I desired to gather your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you were not willing!


All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows who the Son is except the Father or who the Father is except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.”


He came to what was his own, and his own people did not accept him.


No one has ever seen God. It is the only Son, himself God, who is close to the Father’s heart, who has made him known.


for I have not spoken on my own, but the Father who sent me has himself given me a commandment about what to say and what to speak.


Whoever does not love me does not keep my words, and the word that you hear is not mine but is from the Father who sent me.


If I have told you about earthly things and you do not believe, how can you believe if I tell you about heavenly things?


No one has ascended into heaven except the one who descended from heaven, the Son of Man.


Jesus answered him, “Very truly, I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God without being born from above.”


Jesus answered, “Very truly, I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and Spirit.


I have come in my Father’s name, and you do not accept me; if another comes in his own name, you will accept him.


Then Jesus answered them, “My teaching is not mine but his who sent me.


Jesus answered, “Even if I testify on my own behalf, my testimony is valid because I know where I have come from and where I am going, but you do not know where I come from or where I am going.


I have much to say about you and much to condemn, but the one who sent me is true, and I declare to the world what I have heard from him.”


I declare what I have seen in the Father’s presence; as for you, you should do what you have heard from the Father.”


and saw Jesus saying to me, ‘Hurry and get out of Jerusalem quickly, because they will not accept your testimony about me.’


In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing clearly the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.


and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us and freed us from our sins by his blood
