So then the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.


Jesus said to them, “The light is in you for a little longer. Walk while you have the light, so that the darkness may not overtake you. If you walk in the darkness, you do not know where you are going.


Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands and that he had come from God and was going to God,


Little children, I am with you only a little longer. You will look for me, and as I said to the Jews so now I say to you, ‘Where I am going, you cannot come.’


about righteousness, because I am going to the Father, and you will see me no longer;


So you have pain now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you.


I came from the Father and have come into the world; again, I am leaving the world and am going to the Father.”


But now I am going to him who sent me, yet none of you asks me, ‘Where are you going?’


But now I am coming to you, and I speak these things in the world so that they may have my joy made complete in themselves.


So now, Father, glorify me in your own presence with the glory that I had in your presence before the world existed.


Jesus then said, “I will be with you a little while longer, and then I am going to him who sent me.


After his suffering he presented himself alive to them by many convincing proofs, appearing to them during forty days and speaking about the kingdom of God.


looking to Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith, who for the sake of the joy that was set before him endured the cross, disregarding its shame, and has taken his seat at the right hand of the throne of God.
