Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered:


Should they argue in unprofitable talk or in words that can do no good?


Do you think that you can reprove words, as if the speech of the desperate were wind?


“How long will you say these things and the words of your mouth be a great wind?


The mind of the wise makes their speech judicious and adds persuasiveness to their lips.


As they came from their mother’s womb, so they shall go again, naked as they came; they shall take nothing for their toil that they may carry away with their hands.


Ephraim herds the wind and pursues the east wind all day long; they multiply falsehood and violence; they make a treaty with Assyria, and oil is carried to Egypt.


The Lord has an indictment against Judah and will punish Jacob according to his ways and repay him according to his deeds.


Who is wise and knowledgeable among you? Show by your good life that your works are done with gentleness born of wisdom.
