And God said, “Let the waters bring forth swarms of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the dome of the sky.”


But I have understanding as well as you; I am not inferior to you. Who does not know such things as these?


ask the plants of the earth, and they will teach you, and the fish of the sea will declare to you.


“Look, my eye has seen all this; my ear has heard and understood it.


Yet he filled their houses with good things— but the plans of the wicked are repugnant to me.


so that all may see and know, all may consider and understand, that the hand of the Lord has done this, the Holy One of Israel has created it.


As for you, O king, the Most High God gave your father Nebuchadnezzar kingship, greatness, glory, and majesty.


Now therefore, O our God, listen to the prayer of your servant and to his supplication, and for your own sake, Lord, let your face shine upon your desolated sanctuary.


But when the town clerk had quieted the crowd, he said, “Citizens of Ephesus, who is there who does not know that the city of the Ephesians is the temple keeper of the great Artemis and of the statue that fell from heaven?


For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever. Amen.


The Lord makes poor and makes rich; he brings low; he also exalts.
