who brings princes to naught and makes the rulers of the earth as nothing.


Thus says the Lord to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have grasped to subdue nations before him and to strip kings of their robes, to open doors before him— and the gates shall not be closed:


None of them is weary; none stumbles; none slumbers or sleeps; not a loincloth is loose; not a sandal strap broken;


I will cut off the ruler from its midst and will kill all its officials with him, says the Lord.


And immediately, because he had not given the glory to God, an angel of the Lord struck him down, and he was eaten by worms and died.


Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his power;


Stand, therefore, and belt your waist with truth and put on the breastplate of righteousness
