8 Then my cousin Hanamel came to me in the court of the guard, in accordance with the word of the Lord, and said to me, “Buy my field that is at Anathoth in the land of Benjamin, for the right of possession and redemption is yours; buy it for yourself.” Then I knew that this was the word of the Lord.

The word of the Lord came to Jeremiah a second time while he was still confined in the court of the guard:


Jeremiah set out from Jerusalem to go to the land of Benjamin to receive his share of property among the people there.


I did just as I was commanded. I brought out my baggage by day, as baggage for exile, and in the evening I dug through the wall with my own hands; I brought it out in the dark, carrying it on my shoulder in their sight.


So it was annulled on that day, and the sheep merchants who were watching me knew that it was the word of the Lord.


The father realized that this was the hour when Jesus had said to him, “Your son will live.” So he himself believed, along with his whole household.
