9 Why have you prophesied in the name of the Lord, saying, ‘This house shall be like Shiloh, and this city shall be desolate, without inhabitant’?” And all the people gathered around Jeremiah in the house of the Lord.

He spoke these words while he was teaching in the treasury of the temple, but no one arrested him, because his hour had not yet come.


So they picked up stones to throw at him, but Jesus hid himself and went out of the temple.


But the Jews incited the devout women of high standing and the leading men of the city and stirred up persecution against Paul and Barnabas and drove them out of their region.


Then all the city was aroused, and the people rushed together. They seized Paul and dragged him out of the temple, and immediately the doors were shut.


Up to this point they listened to him, but then they shouted, “Away with such a fellow from the earth! For he should not be allowed to live.”


While he clung to Peter and John, all the people ran together to them in the portico called Solomon’s Portico, utterly astonished.


Now many signs and wonders were done among the people through the apostles. And they were all together in Solomon’s Portico.


saying, “We gave you strict orders not to teach in this name, yet here you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching, and you are determined to bring this man’s blood on us.”


for we have heard him say that this Jesus of Nazareth will destroy this place and will change the customs that Moses handed on to us.”


Then the whole congregation of the Israelites assembled at Shiloh and set up the tent of meeting there. The land lay subdued before them.
