30 You, therefore, shall prophesy to them all these words and say to them: The Lord will roar from on high and from his holy habitation utter his voice; he will roar mightily against his fold and shout like those who tread grapes against all the inhabitants of the earth.

Then the king said to Zadok, “Carry the ark of God back into the city. If I find favor in the eyes of the Lord, he will bring me back and let me see both it and the place where it stays.


The Lord said to him, “I have heard your prayer and your plea that you made before me; I have consecrated this house that you have built and put my name there forever; my eyes and my heart will be there for all time.


Then the priests and the Levites stood up and blessed the people, and their voice was heard; their prayer came to his holy dwelling in heaven.


The Lord is in his holy temple; the Lord’s throne is in heaven. His eyes behold; his gaze examines humankind.

The nations are in an uproar; the kingdoms totter; he utters his voice; the earth melts.

Then the Lord awoke as from sleep, like a warrior shouting because of wine.

At the sound of tumult, peoples fled; before your majesty, nations scattered.


The Lord goes forth like a soldier; like a warrior he stirs up his fury; he cries out; he shouts aloud; he shows himself mighty against his foes.


O glorious throne, exalted from the beginning, shrine of our sanctuary!


Like a lion he has left his den, for their land has become a waste because of the cruel anger and because of his fierce anger.


Gladness and joy have been taken away from the fruitful land of Moab; I have stopped the wine from the winepresses; no one treads them with shouts of joy; the shouting is not the shout of joy.


They shall go after the Lord, who roars like a lion; when he roars, his children shall come trembling from the west.


For I will be like a lion to Ephraim and like a young lion to the house of Judah. I myself will tear and go away; I will carry off, and no one shall rescue.


The Lord roars from Zion and utters his voice from Jerusalem, and the heavens and the earth shake. But the Lord is a refuge for his people, a stronghold for the people of Israel.


And he said: The Lord roars from Zion and utters his voice from Jerusalem; the pastures of the shepherds wither, and the top of Carmel dries up.


The lion has roared; who will not fear? The Lord God has spoken; who can but prophesy?


Be silent, all flesh, before the Lord, for he has roused himself from his holy dwelling.


Look down from your holy habitation, from heaven, and bless your people Israel and the ground that you have given us, as you swore to our ancestors, a land flowing with milk and honey.’


From his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations, and he will rule them with a scepter of iron; he will tread the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty.
