Let those curse it who curse the Sea, those who are skilled to rouse up Leviathan.


“It is the first of the great acts of God; only its Maker can approach it with the sword.


“Can you draw out Leviathan with a fishhook or press down its tongue with a cord?


There go the ships and Leviathan that you formed to sport in it.


Gird your sword on your thigh, O mighty one, in your glory and majesty.


For the Lord comes out from his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity; the earth will disclose the blood shed on it and will no longer cover its slain.


Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the Lord! Awake, as in days of old, the generations of long ago! Was it not you who cut Rahab in pieces, who pierced the dragon?


I will destine you to the sword, and all of you shall bow down to the slaughter; because, when I called, you did not answer, when I spoke, you did not listen, but you did what was evil in my sight and chose what I did not delight in.

They worshiped the dragon, for he had given his authority to the beast, and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast, and who can fight against it?”


And I saw three foul spirits like frogs coming from the mouth of the dragon, from the mouth of the beast, and from the mouth of the false prophet.


Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and said to me, “Come, I will show you the judgment of the great whore who is seated on many waters,


And he said to me, “The waters that you saw, where the whore is seated, are peoples and multitudes and nations and languages.


And the rest were killed by the sword of the rider on the horse, the sword that came from his mouth, and all the birds were gorged with their flesh.


Repent, then. If not, I will come to you soon and wage war against them with the sword of my mouth.


He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years
