For he says: “Are not my commanders all kings?


How then can you repulse a single captain among the least of my master’s servants, when you rely on Egypt for chariots and for horsemen?


They will take your riches and plunder your merchandise; they shall break down your walls and destroy your fine houses. Your stones and timber and soil they shall cast into the water.


You increased your merchants more than the stars of the heavens. The locust sheds its skin and flies away.


Tyre has built itself a rampart and heaped up silver like dust and gold like the dirt of the streets.


and the light of a lamp will shine in you no more, and the voice of bridegroom and bride will be heard in you no more, for your merchants were the magnates of the earth, and all nations were deceived by your sorcery.


therefore her plagues will come in a single day— pestilence and mourning and famine— and she will be burned with fire, for mighty is the Lord God who judges her.”
