If the righteous are repaid on earth, how much more the wicked and the sinner!


The fear of the Lord is hatred of evil. Pride and arrogance and the way of evil and perverted speech I hate.

For the Lord of hosts has a day against all that is proud and lofty, against all that is lifted up and high;

For the Lord comes out from his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity; the earth will disclose the blood shed on it and will no longer cover its slain.


For the tyrant shall be no more, and the scoffer shall cease to be; all those alert to do evil shall be cut off—


But the multitude of your arrogant ones shall be like fine dust and the multitude of tyrants like flying chaff. And in an instant, suddenly,


Woe to the guilty! How unfortunate they are, for what their hands have done shall be done to them.


People are bowed down, everyone is brought low, and the eyes of the haughty are humbled.


their iniquities and their ancestors’ iniquities together, says the Lord; because they offered incense on the mountains and reviled me on the hills, I will measure into their laps full payment for their actions.


We have heard of the pride of Moab— he is very proud— of his loftiness, his pride, and his arrogance, and the haughtiness of his heart.


When that period was over, I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted my eyes to heaven, and my reason returned to me. I blessed the Most High and praised and honored the one who lives forever. For his sovereignty is an everlasting sovereignty, and his kingdom endures from generation to generation.


Look at the proud! Their spirit is not right in them, but the righteous live by their faithfulness.
