“This is my resting place forever; here I will reside, for I have desired it.


Blessed be the Lord from Zion, he who resides in Jerusalem. Praise the Lord!


God is in the midst of the city; it shall not be moved; God will help it when the morning dawns.


Why do you look with envy, O many-peaked mountain, at the mount that God desired for his abode, where the Lord will reside forever?


I will also praise you with the harp for your faithfulness, O my God; I will sing praises to you with the lyre, O Holy One of Israel.


For our shield belongs to the Lord, our king to the Holy One of Israel.


Sing praises to the Lord, who dwells in Zion. Declare his deeds among the peoples.


The Lord is great in Zion; he is exalted over all the peoples.


Therefore says the Sovereign, the Lord of hosts, the Mighty One of Israel: Surely I will pour out my wrath on my enemies and avenge myself on my foes!


Therefore thus says the Lord God of hosts: “O my people who live in Zion, do not be afraid of the Assyrians when they beat you with a rod and lift up their staff against you as the Egyptians did.


They lift up their voices; they sing for joy; they shout from the west over the majesty of the Lord.


Then the moon will be abashed and the sun ashamed, for the Lord of hosts will reign on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem, and before his elders he will be glorified.


O people in Zion, inhabitants of Jerusalem, you shall weep no more. He will surely be gracious to you at the sound of your cry; when he hears it, he will answer you.


But there the Lord in majesty will be for us a place of broad rivers and streams where no galley with oars can go nor stately ship can pass.


And no inhabitant will say, “I am sick”; the people who live there will be forgiven their iniquity.


Get you up to a high mountain, O Zion, herald of good news; lift up your voice with strength, O Jerusalem, herald of good news; lift it up, do not fear; say to the cities of Judah, “Here is your God!”


Do not fear, you worm Jacob, you maggot Israel! I will help you, says the Lord; your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel.


You shall winnow them, and the wind shall carry them away, and the tempest shall scatter them. Then you shall rejoice in the Lord; in the Holy One of Israel you shall glory.


I will make your oppressors eat their own flesh, and they shall be drunk with their own blood as with wine. Then all flesh shall know that I am the Lord your Savior and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.


Shout for joy, O barren one who has borne no children; burst into song and shout, you who have not been in labor! For the children of the desolate woman will be more than the children of the one who is married, says the Lord.


You shall suck the milk of nations; you shall suck the breasts of kings, and you shall know that I, the Lord, am your Savior and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.


See, I and the children whom the Lord has given me are signs and portents in Israel from the Lord of hosts, who dwells on Mount Zion.


There is none like you, O Lord; you are great, and your name is great in might.


Because you said, “These two nations and these two countries shall be mine, and we will take possession of them”—although the Lord was there—


My holy name I will make known among my people Israel, and I will not let my holy name be profaned any more, and the nations shall know that I am the Lord, the Holy One in Israel.


He said to me: “Mortal, this is the place of my throne and the place for the soles of my feet, where I will reside among the people of Israel forever. The house of Israel shall no more defile my holy name, neither they nor their kings, by their prostitution and by sacrificing to their kings at their death.


The circumference of the city shall be eighteen thousand cubits. And the name of the city from that time on shall be, The Lord Is There.


Adjoining the territory of Judah, from the east side to the west, shall be the portion that you shall set apart, twenty-five thousand cubits in width, and in length equal to one of the tribal portions, from the east side to the west, with the sanctuary in the middle of it.


I will not execute my fierce anger; I will not again destroy Ephraim, for I am God and no mortal, the Holy One in your midst, and I will not come in wrath.


You shall know that I am in the midst of Israel and that I, the Lord, am your God and there is no other. And my people shall never again be put to shame.


Woe, inhabitants of the seacoast, you nation of the Cherethites! The word of the Lord is against you, O Canaan, land of the Philistines, and I will destroy you until no inhabitant is left.


For I will be a wall of fire all around it, says the Lord, and I will be the glory within it.”


For I am going to raise my hand against them, and they shall become plunder for their own slaves. Then you will know that the Lord of hosts has sent me.


He has not beheld misfortune in Jacob, nor has he seen trouble in Israel. The Lord their God is with them, acclaimed as a king among them.


“You shall not return to their owners slaves who have escaped to you from their owners.
