Afterward his brother came out, with his hand gripping Esau’s heel, so he was named Jacob. Isaac was sixty years old when she bore them.


Therefore the Lord was very angry with Israel and removed them out of his sight; none was left but the tribe of Judah alone.


The Lord rejected all the descendants of Israel; he punished them and gave them into the hand of plunderers, until he had banished them from his presence.


until the Lord removed Israel out of his sight, as he had foretold through all his servants the prophets. So Israel was exiled from their own land to Assyria until this day.


Therefore once more I accuse you, says the Lord, and I accuse your children’s children.


Now the end is upon you; I will let loose my anger upon you; I will judge you according to your ways; I will punish you for all your abominations.


Soon now I will pour out my wrath upon you; I will spend my anger against you. I will judge you according to your ways and punish you for all your abominations.


Hear the word of the Lord, O people of Israel, for the Lord has an indictment against the inhabitants of the land. There is no faithfulness or loyalty and no knowledge of God in the land.


And it shall be like people, like priest; I will punish them for their ways and repay them for their deeds.


Thus says the Lord: For three transgressions of Judah, and for four, I will not revoke the punishment, because they have rejected the instruction of the Lord and have not kept his statutes, but they have been led astray by the same lies after which their ancestors walked.


Hear, you mountains, the case of the Lord, and you enduring foundations of the earth, for the Lord has a case against his people, and he will contend with Israel.
